Betashares Global Sustainability Leaders Currency Hedged ETF · Betashares

The same large global companies as ETHI — climate leaders that pass an ethical screen, with fossil-fuel producers and a range of other activities excluded — but with the foreign-currency exposure hedged back to Australian dollars.

What the fee costs you

The management fee is 0.62% a year. Here’s what that works out to in dollars:

A 0.62% yearly fee works out to about $62 a year per $10,000 invested.

A rough guide based on the headline fee only. Other costs (such as brokerage or buy/sell spreads) aren’t included.

Number of holdings

Where it invests
Global developed markets, around 70% United States, with Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Canada making up much of the rest.
Income paid
Half-yearly
Currency hedged
Yes — It's currency-hedged back to Australian dollars, so day-to-day moves in the Australian dollar against foreign currencies are largely smoothed out, leaving mainly the markets themselves.

Its character

The currency-hedged twin of ETHI: an ethically screened take on global shares (it invests through ETHI) that filters out fossil fuels and companies failing its responsible-investment screens, then hedges out moves in the Australian dollar. It still leans toward technology and large US names.

What to keep in mind

Because the ethical screens narrow the field, it can look and move differently from a plain world-shares fund, and it still leans on the United States and large technology firms. Currency is hedged out, so an Australian holder is left mainly with share-market movements.

How this fund relates to others

Holds the same screened global shares as ETHI (it invests through it), differing only in that the currency is hedged. It overlaps with broad developed-world funds in the big US-led names, but holds far fewer companies and screens harder.
